The challenge

A time log needs consistent command handling, a way to reconcile historical entries, and alerts when required information is missing.

What I built

  • Telegram command capture with sender matching and actionable-command checks before appending to the DTR sheet.
  • A manual backfill path that reads raw logs and the formatted sheet, prepares updates, and writes cells.
  • A scheduled daily sync with missing-punch checks and administrator alerts for failures.

Key implementation decisions

Separate capture from reconciliation

Command capture, manual backfill, and scheduled daily synchronization have distinct paths.

Check before writing

The workflow checks whether commands are actionable and whether backfill or daily updates exist before taking the corresponding action.

The result

A published reporting workflow with three connected responsibilities: command capture, historical backfill, and daily sheet reconciliation. Employee records and workplace performance figures remain private.
