FinanceHub
A private personal finance app for keeping accounts, transactions, bills, goals, and budgets in one manually maintained workspace.
Application development across the responsive interface, authentication, financial record workflows, and manual exports.
The preview shows the actual public sign-in screen. Personal finance records remain private; access to the application requires an account.
The challenge
Balances, upcoming bills, and savings plans are easy to lose track of when they live in separate notes and spreadsheets. The records also need clear ownership and a way to take the data with you.
What I built
- Authenticated, user-scoped workspaces for accounts, transactions, categories, bills and debt, goals, and budgets.
- Manual balance updates, transaction review, and record status changes, with archive and restore workflows where supported.
- Responsive desktop and mobile navigation, plus on-demand JSON and CSV exports.
Key implementation decisions
Keep the user in control of the records
Balances and payment statuses are entered manually. The app does not claim to synchronize with banks, move money, or automatically track budget spending from transactions.
Preserve history deliberately
Accounts, categories, and bills can be archived and restored rather than erased through an unrestricted delete action. Manual exports provide a separate copy of supported records.
The result
A personal-use release candidate with connected record management and manual exports. Bank sync, payment automation, reminders, and automated backup or import are outside this version.
